Welcome to the 50 Strategies to Boost Cognitive Engagement book study.

My name is Kim Davidson, and I'm the co-designer of this course. Our team is excited to join you on this journey as engagement is one of the most critical issues in education today. This book study is all about moving classroom cultures from "passive knowledge consumption to one of active learning and student engagement."

Outcomes

In this book study, you will reflect on your experiences with the book, watch optional "chapter chats" where I talk more about the book, and gain access to great takeaway resources. By the end of this experience, we hope that you will:

I can explain the difference between the transmission and thinking models of teaching.
I can evaluate the levels of thinking occurring in a classroom.
I can use strategies to explicitly teach to the understand, analyze, evaluate, and create levels.
